Hello,

Some one please help me, i would like to upgrade my Cisco 800 series router for better performance. my 800 series router have 4 Fast Ethernet port and one Giga Ethernet Wan port. My primary objective is improving my Wan speed. This router is a spoke router in DMVPN GRE model it's connected 2 different hubs and 2 common spokes, there are some servers and many clients are connected with this router LAN segment. Future we may upgrade our wan connection into 150 -200 Mbps, our current plan is 100mbps download and 40Mbps upload and i'm experiencing 60 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload when its reaching maximum performance facing a lot of problem

FE-0 is connected = Hyper-V Switch

FE-1 is connected to another one router

FE-2 No connection

FE-3 ISA Firewall LAN Segment

FE-4 Wan connection

a 2921 is probably the next best choice if budget is constraint out of the box you might get 100mb but if you using IPsec/NAT and other features you may struggle to get that on wan

Hi

If your going to 150-200 mpls wan you would want at least a 3900 series maybe 45E or newer 4000 series like the 4331 , but depends on your budget as well there not cheap

yes got it,  suggested 3900 and 4000 series are not affordable. can you please suggest a cost effective one. Forget about bandwidth we need one which is meeting our current requirement. i mean bandwidth between 75 and 100

what about 1900 Series routers?

This is Cisco doc below but its very conservative and bit unrealistic but I have heard people have got between 50-100mb with these but it depends on what serveries are running as well , the more services used the faster the speed will drop as the router has to process and use its resources for that

The 1941 has a total box throughput of 153 , use IPsec you half that straight way due to overhead

ISR G2 1941 299,000 153.08

High performance with integrated services

• The Cisco 1900 Series enables deployment in high-speed WAN environments with concurrent services enabled up to 15 Mbps.
