Connectivity problem with SRP 527

Hello,

We are working with a customer testing the SRP527W. Eventually it is intended for VOIP solution.

But, going back to basics, we encountered a really weird situation:

When we configured the SRP527W for basic DSL connectivity using the GUI wizard, we have full connectivity to the WAN (including pinging address in the WAN and http browsing) but when using an IP Communicator soft-phone, the phone registers with the CCM in the WAN, when you dial from another extension (somewhere in the WAN) to the IP Communicator, the soft-phone rings, you can pick up the call but then it seems the voice goes only in 1 direction (when you speak in the IP Comm. you could here the voice on the other side, but when you speak on the other side, it seems the voice does not go back to the IP Comm.).

When we replaced the SRP527W with a Cisco 881 with a very basic configuration (PPPoE connection and basic NAT on the dialer interface - overload) and we connect the laptop with IP Comm. on the LAN, the soft phone works perfectly well and we get 2-way voice.

The configuration seems to be the same on the 881 and SRP527W but apparently there is a problem when we use the SRP527W as the router.

Could you advise what might be the problem?

Thanks,

Addie

Depends on how you are having this work.  Is this going through an IPSEC tunnel of some sort?

The SRP doesn't likely have SCCP fixup like the 881 does.  A SIP aware gateway will not fix a SCCP call.

This is correct, there is no SCCP ALG on the SRP500.

The SCCP ALG on the 800 series is enabled by default, hence the simple configuration.
