difference between SRP520W and SRP520-U

Hi all,

i have tried to see the difference between the routers series:

srp 520w series

and

srp 520-u series

but with no success.

is it possible to know the differences between this two series?

Hi Paolo,

Those are the hardware differences (that at the colour of the bezel - the SRP520-U is black).

The big difference that comes with the hardware upgrade is the support for firmware.

The original SRP520 models run (and will only run) version 1.1.x releases.

The new SRP520-U models run the 1.2.x code train (only) - this is the same code base as the SRP540 models.

Hi Andrew,

thanks for your reply.

I need some features (like ACL for example, "advanced" NAT etc etc) which are supported by the 1.2.x firmware and not by the 1.1.x that's why I was asking for differences between the two models.

now everything it's more clear to me.

unfortunatelly i am still not finding the cisco 520U series into the official italian distributor market.
