Looking to purchase a router with at least 64 fixed ip/macid and port forwarding rules.

good day everyone,

am setting up about 40 network cameras and about 4 DVRs.

was trying to work with what was available but realize the router(asus RT-N66U) supports only up to 32 DHCP/reserved ips and port forwarding rules, have tried to look at custom firmware but no luck so far.

Checked consumer Cisco Linksys EA4200 and EA4500 seem to support only up to 25 reserved ips and port forwarding rules as well.

tried to get around the issue with static IPs on the cameras but uPnP does not work well between the cameras and routers.

so am wondering which Cisco SB product might support more than 32 fixed ip and port forwarding rules, preferbly 64 at least.

thank.

RV042G supports 50 entries of MAC-to-IP address binding, and 30 entries of port range forwarding.

RV220W should have similar capacity.

thank Tekliu,

will you be able to recommend a router or series with more than 30 entries of port forwarding?

thank.

30 entries of port range forwarding is be the current limit of the small business routers. With port range forwarding, each entry can be used to forward similar service to multiple devices in the LAN.

For example, say you want to forward port X to a device with a private IP address of Y with a range of 50. A single port range forwarding (with range = 50) can forward

Port X to Y

Port X+1 to Y+1

Port X+2 to Y+2

...

Port X+49 to Y+49.
