P2P tunnel between RVL200 and Netgear FVS336G

Hi

I am trying to configure a peer to Peer tunnel between a linksys RVL 200 and a netgear FVS336G an I have some problem.

I have configured the VPN settings on both side with dynamic IP +FDQN because I am using dyndns. the other VPN settings are similar for the encrption and the subnets.

when I try to initiate a tunnel from the netgear I can see:

IKE packet sent fron the netgear to the RVL200

I can see these packets in the FW log of the RVL 200 arriving and being accepted

then there are these 4 entries in the VPN log :

VPN Log initial Aggressive Mode message from X.X.X.X but no (wildcard) connection has been configured
Oct 18 21:04:13 2010 VPN Log [Tunnel Negotiation Info] <<< Responder Received Aggressive Mode 1st packet
Oct 18 21:04:13 2010 VPN Log Ignoring Vendor ID payload [3b9031dce4fcf88b...]
Oct 18 21:04:13 2010 VPN Log Ignoring Vendor ID payload [810fa565f8ab1436...]

then nothing

after that I see no IKE packet going out of the RVL 200.

the message are not really clear to me.

I search the internet but could not find some helpfull information.

if someone can help it would be most welcome.

thanks,

Re: P2P tunnel between RVL200 and Netgear FVS336G

Oliver,

What firmware version is on the RVL200?

Also, have you tried Main Mode and not Aggresive mode?

Are all ports needed on both sides open?

Thanks!

Dave

Re: P2P tunnel between RVL200 and Netgear FVS336G

Hi Dave,

thank for your answer.

the firmware version is :                     v1.1.12 .1 (Mar 16 2010 17:00:50)

regarding the mode I do not have the possiblity to choose because the checkbox for Agressive mode is checked and greyed.

regarding the ports I opened no ports since the VPN packets are arriving to the external interface. do I need to open any ports on the firewall?

thanks,

Olivier

Re: P2P tunnel between RVL200 and Netgear FVS336G

Hi Olivier,

Do you mind providing me with the configuration via a Personal Message?

In that message, can you please also provide the related network information for both sides of the tunnel?

Thanks!

Dave
