Please Help with Apple Talk and Router WAG160n

Hello,

I have a basic knowledge of networking.

Last week I replaced our Belkin ADSL modem/router with a Cisco WAG160n.

We run a small LAN with two Cisco switches, all computers are Macs, some are wired some are wireless (via Apple Airport Extreme).

The problem relates to an older Apple Laser Writer 320  (LW 320).

We can all print to this LW 320 (of course Apple Talk activated in the Macs' networking settings) if connected to the LAN via an Airport Extreme or when wired, but when someone has logged into the WAG160n wirelessly the LW 320 does not appear in the printer list.

I suspect that the Cisco router WAG160n blocks Apple Talk traffic when connected wirelessly. We did not have this problem with the Belkin router.

How can I fix this ?

Thank you all for helping.

Regards,

Robert

Hi Robert,

Thank you for your question.  However, the Small Business Support Community is limited to Cisco Small Business Products.

Your question below relates to a Cisco Consumer Product which our community would not be able to help you with.

The best area for you to post your question would be at the Linksys by Cisco for WAG160N.

Best regards,

Cindy
