Port Forwarding on RV120

Port forwarding on rv120 does not work.

I have followed the workaround instructions: so i have created a firewall access rule on incoming port 21 to an internal ip address on the same port. The router has created the forwarding port rule. But port forwarding does not work. I have tried to use a custom service but nothing!

The router is reachable from wan, I can access via DNS the configuration page and I can ping the router on wan port.

Please Help me

Many thanks

Instead of start with port forwarding, Create access rule where the portforwarding entry will be automatically created.

I always start with access rule because of the firmware's bug.

Hello Alessandro,

From your pictures, it appears the rule has been created correctly. Here are some things to look for:

From the router, can you ping the computer you are forwarding to?

When connected locally can you reach the computer on 21?

Are you able to do a port scan from outside the network? If so what is the status of port 21?

Does the computer have a firewall that could block traffic from the internet?

If everything is correct, please feel free to call us at the support center.

Hello,

- the router can ping the ftp server

- locally ftp server is reachable

- from outside the only port active on the router is n. 80

- the ftp server has no firewall

If I connect another router (Zyxel NBG420) the ftp server is reachable.

Thanks

I have done a port scan with Portqry. The test of port 21 is very slow and after many seconds appers FILTERED.

Thanks for the update. Try disabling 'block framgemented packets' under Firewall > Attack Prevention. If that does not work, delete the rule and create it under the port forwarding section.

If it still does not work, I would really recommend calling us if possible.

Yesterday I have restored to factory default and reconfigured all. Now it works. I don't know what was wrong!

Thanks!!!!

Alex
