Please confirm that QuickVPN can create a secure tunnel between a remote PC on a public network and a private network. Further, any information transferred between the PC on the public network and private network is encrypted and effectively isolated from the public network. What is the encryption strength of the QuickVPN link?
Thanks for the link it was informative. Still not answered is the strength of the encryption; however, I looked up IPSEC. It appears to be something different from AES or other techniques; still researching.
Note: While not what I was originally interested in, the information suggested that the NSA may have a backdoor into IPSEC. If this is true and the backdoor manages to escape NSA's control, IPSEC may not be as secure as expected.
I believe that QuickVPN uses 3DES encryption. It uses the Windows IPSec service. If you are looking for a client with more configuration options, check out Shrewsoft (free) or The Greenbow (paid) client. For Mac, try IPSecuritas.
