RV042 and DNS

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Im trying to get my RV042 to

act as a DNS server for my network. Is this possible? I don't seem to find any way to configure it as a DNS server...

Since it's already handling DHCP, it would make sense to serve DNS as well...

Re: RV042 and DNS

Hi Ron,

Can you explain more in detail your question?

Are you wanting to add A records for PC's and Servers in your network so that the router can resolve them without having an internal DNS server?

If so, the device does not support this functionality.

What you can do is have the router be the first point of contact for DNS requests (by leaving the user configured DNS section blank on the LAN setup) however it's not going to be able to resolve internal DNS for your network.

Thanks!

Dave
