Hi, All,
I've got a RV042 & SF300, connect the RV042 WAN port to SF300 LAN port;
On SF300, the VLAN1 has enabled DHCP server with ip address 192.168.1.x, I can obtain ip 192.168.1.x using single PC attached on it.
but when I set RV042's WAN interface on 'DHCP mode', RV042 can not obtain the DHCP address.
Please help looking into this issue and provide some advise if possible, Thanks a lot.
I've done the below trouble shooting,
1,Upgrade the latest firmware version of RV042(Version: v4.2.3.03) & SF300(Version 1.3.7.18);
2,Attach one pc to SF300, It can obtain dhcp ip address at 192.168.1.x;
3,SF300 with default factory setting,VLAN1 ip address:192.168.1.254 & DHCP pool:192.168.1.100-200;
I could see the MAC address of RV042's WAN interface was learned by SF300, as attachment.
4,RV042 working in Gateway mode, and WAN interface setting to 'obtain an ip address automatically';

Are the 4 RV042 doing network address translation while connected on the SF300? Not sure if iam understanding your network topology. How many clients behind the SF300. From my understanding you working with only vlan 1, why not have the RV042 handle DHCP and have SF300 in Layer2?

Hi Iarroyo,
Thanks for your help!!!
The topology is very simple, SF300(Lan Port) --- (WAN port) RV042,
I just test the device for Lab purpose,The result is not what i'm expecting.
Actually, Let's focus on the question that why RV042 can not obtain an DHCP ip address from SF300, but my laptop can do, even I replace an another brand router, it's working too.
Thanks a lot.
