Hi,
I have a RV042 and I am not able to receive incoming calls from a SIP provider.
My firewall rules are
1. Unblocked outbound Access.
2. UDP port 5060 is open from the providers server IP to the 10 IP Addresses that are assigned to my phones.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Surya,
In order to properly assist you we will need to know a little more information.
Is your PBX local or hosted?
Do you know if your ITSP requires SIP-ALG to be enabled or disabled?
What are ports required for SIP by your ITSP?
What ports are you forwarding, to what IPs, and what devices?
Your title states that SIP registration fails, but you later stat that you can not receive incoming calls. Do the phones register or are you saying that registration fails because you can not receive calls?
What about out going calls?

Hi.
My PBX is hosted.
ITSP requires SIP-ALG to be disabled.
SIP port is UDP-5060 is the only port required according to the provider.
My IP Phones are polycom 501's. I am forwarding traffic from the hosted server to the phones ip address on port 5060.
I cannot receive calls, my provider tells me that im not able to recieve calls because SIP registration is failing.
I can make outgoing calls.
Thanks
Surya.

Hosted

disabled

UDP 5060

its not a local server, so there is no need of port forwarding (it is a polycom phone)

Surya,
SIP-ALG is an embedded feature of the RV042 and can not be disabled. This is probably the cause of your registration issue. If possible I would suggest returning the device to the place of purchase and getting a router that has SIP-ALG as feature that can be enabled or disabled. The RV220W is a wireless router that does have this feature. You may want to call 1.866.606.1866 so that an Engineer can provide presales support for another router. If you follow the link below and look under the firewall tab you will see this feature.

Thanks for the quicky reply Blake.
I have a question. I have a softphone "xlite" installed on one of the systems that is connected to this firewall, I can receive calls on that soft phone anytime I call it. Do you know why is that happening?
Thanks
Surya.
