Hello,

RV042G has only one hardware version and the corresponding firmware for this device is the one for RV0XX hardware version 3 - meaning firmware files starting from 4.2.1.X

RV042G is not compatible with the firmware for hardware version 1 for RV0XX - those are firmwares 1.X and 2.X.

There were similar bug in version 4.2.2.08 - CSCuh83563, which is reported to be fixed in the latest firmware - 4.2.3.03.

You may check the release notes - http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/routers/csbr/rv0xx/release/RV0xx_RN_4-2-3-03.pdf

If you face the problem after update to the latest firmware, I would suggest to make factory reset without uploading any backup after that. And if after that it is still the same behavior, I would advise to call the support line - the root cause could be something else - http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/web/tsd-cisco-small-business-support-center-contacts.html

Okay, If your right that helps me a lot! Which explains why it still works for the most part. But this brings me to my second problem, the web interface doesn't load unless I manually restart the router by unplugging it. I thought it was because I up dated the firmware to 4.2.2.08. Would you have some insight to this problem?

Thanks a lot, I will try that.

Thanks a lot worked great, everything is normal. I just wanted to mention I got more help and the CORRECT answer from the community. Cisco nor Linksys couldn't help me at all, and I offer to pay their $75 dollar fee for engineer help.

Thanks again...
