Rv120W Wireless Connections limit

I'm using a brand new Cisco Rv120W wireless router, and I've found that no more that 8 WiFi devices are able to connect to the router at the same time. If a nineth device tries to connect to the wifi (any access point) the router denies the connection.

I've been through the docs and I've found no evidence of a limitation in WiFi connections, so I want to know if anyone knows about such a limitation.

There is a configuration parameter (Max. Associated Clients) in the Web GUI (under Wireless>Basic Settings) to increase the number of wireless clients for a given SSID.

The GUI lets you change the Max Associated Clients to as high as 48 per SSID maybe more, but appears that the MAC Filtering page only has 20 spaces.  Weird.

Upgrade you router to latest code and go through below document

In the Max Associated Clients
 field, enter the maximum number of endpoints
that can connect to this network. The default value is 8. You can change this
number if you want to restrict traffic on the network to prevent it from being
overloaded, for example. The number of clients connected across all four
virtual access points cannot exceed 100
