RV180 NAT Throughput on Data Sheet differs from Actual Throughput Test

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if I were doing anything wrong with my RV180. I am unable to achieve 800Mbps (NAT Throughput) as given in the datasheet. I am only getting a max of 50Mbps. I saw in another post that that 50Mbps was the maximum achievable NAT Throughput.

- I am an intermediate user

- I tested using 1 Cat 5e STP cable.

- Disconnected all other devices.

- WAN Speed is 100Mpbs. (Tested by connecting my computer directly to the modem)

- Computer has a Gigabit Eth

- NAT yields a max of 50Mbps.

Please advise. I feel deceived and scammed by Cisco.

Hi,

800Mbps (NAT Throughput) is based on WAN and LAN connection of 1Gbps. This is in lab environment and is there to say that you will have approximately 20% loss from the throughput, which is due to the router internal processes. It is not giving information for all losses, though.

In your case if your WAN connection is 100Mbps, 20% of it you will have like losses from the router itself.

Kremena
