rv320 resets leasetime of LAN port of Windows 8.1 client

We recently installed a rv320 router in a basic network with Windows xp and Windows 8.1 clients. The LAN connection to the Windows 8.1 clients is unstable and is reset every 5 to 10 minutes (goes from active to non-active and vice versa). This can be followed up by verifying the remaining lease time of the client (DHCP status screen). LAN connection with the Windows xp clients is not affected. The rv320 runs the latest firmware. What setting is affecting this active / non-active switching all the time (with the Windows 8.1 client)?

This doesn't sound right.  Try the following:

- Try setting the LAN ports on the rv320 to anything other than 'auto' for their speed detection.

or

- Try setting the ethernet port on the 8.1 client to a certain speed/duplex.

See if either of these helps.
