RVN220W. Intermittent WAN VPN connection

I have a new RVN220w that I am trying to get setup.  I need to have a vpn connection working through the device but after a short period anywhere from a couple of minutes to an hour the device will stop responding to pings on the wan side and the vpn connection will stop.  I have the wan side setup to a static IP address from a DSL router.  This router also runs our VPN connection through a cisco 1811W router which is on the way out ( the wireless nolonger works but the vpn connection still goes).  I have have updated the 220 to the the latest firmware () and tried turning off fragment packets and flood mode in the fire wall with no luck.  When the device is up and working I can get the SSL vpn, quickVPN and PPTP style connections to work fine.  But eventually the wan side will stop responding.

Any Ideas?
