SRP527w resets to 1970/1/1 on reboot

Hi

I bought a new cisco srp527w (K9-G4)

and all seems fine but when I reboot it the date resets to 1970/1/1

I upgraded it from vrs 1.01.09(001) to 1.01.24 but it is still doing it.

I havent yet got it onto the internet as it wont be going live until it goes into a client site, so I cannot set it to NTP to see if this will work around the problem of setting the date and time manually.

any suggestions? it was bought new on-line through Techbuy.com.au in Australia and certainly appears to be brand new and genuine

Hi Mark,

The clock will always start from the 1970 time, as there is no battery to keep the clock going when the device is powered off.  Enable NTP to get the clock running correctly as soon as possible.  By default, the SRP will use use servers from the ntp.org pool, but you can set your own preference.

There is also another setting - Auto Recovery After Reboot - this keeps the date setting between reboots (not power cycles).  Uncheck that box to have the clock always start from 1970.

Cheers

Andy

thanks Andy, clears that issue up.
