Trouble attempting to configure 2921 router

Hi all,

Not very experienced at this. Recently purchased a refurbished 2921 router from a cisco reseller.

I am currently trying to ssh into the router through the console port using a crossover cable, however, I am unable to find the host name. I tried the default of "Router" in the documentation guide, but no luck. Feeling rather stuck trying to connect and configure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can't SSH into the console port, you can SSH over IP (like on an Ethernet-based interface). Can't you just use a serial R232 (aka console cable), maybe in combination with an USB-to-serial adapter?
