WRV54G router doesn't stay connected

So I don't know how old this router is; it's fresh from the package, but I bought it second-hand. But if anyone out there has knowledge that might be able to help me. . .

The router doesn't maintain its internet connection. There's an 'internet' light - bright green when things are working fine - and whenever I turn the router's power switch off and then on, this light quickly comes on and my laptop is able to get a wireless signal.

But after a period of time, maybe a couple hours, usually a lot less than that, maybe after only five minutes, the 'internet' light goes from green to orange, and then my laptop is unable to get any signal. So the router seems to work, but never for more than a brief period of time.

The router is plugged into a Clearwire modem. The cable works fine. No problems when I plug my computer directly to the modem.
