WRVS4400N QVPN connectivity issue

I've been looking through other threads about this issue and I've  been trying the solutions suggested, but i am not having any success  connecting to the remote location.

I get to verifying network, but no matter what I try I continue to fail to ping the router.

here is my log file:

I've  tried playing with windows firewall settings as well as my internet  security software (which is setup to allow VPN traffic). Any  suggestions? I am using QVPN 1.4.2.1 and the router has the most up to  date firmware

WRVS4400N QVPN connectivity issue

Hello Paul,

From the look of things you are able to reach the other side and get the tunnel up and connected. The last part however looks like it is failing. The QuickVPN client does ping the router using it's LAN side IP to verify the tunnel is connected.

There are a few possible causes for the ping to fail. The most common is the computer you are connecting from has a firewall or anti-virus that will block ping from unknown networks. A firewall rule must be created to allow ICMPv4 from any subnet.

Another less common issue is the LAN subnet behind the router. The subnet MUST be a /24 (255.255.255.0) or the QuickVPN will not connect (or will have many issues).

If after reviewing this you still can not get connected. Feel free to give us a call at the SBSC.

Re: WRVS4400N QVPN connectivity issue

Should I create this rule in Windows Firewall? And disable the one i've installed?

Most other threads i've read about this issue are caused by Windows Firewall.

And I'm sure my subnet is 255.255.255.0, did that during initial setup.

I can ping the router succesfully in command prompt without packet loss.

Re: WRVS4400N QVPN connectivity issue

Nevermind, thank you for your assistance.

I created that rule and that has solved the problem. Thank you again.
