I have an interesting issue and hoping someone has seen this or can help.

Have this unit setup to serve upwireless which it does.

I have a name, wep and a wep password.

I can connect a windows xp system a mac 10.7 system an aple ipad all conect to the wireless resouce correctly

I have a dell xps 12 with windows 8 that will not connect to the wireless at this location using a profile with the same settings at the other devices that connect.

This laptop and windows 8 connect with no issues to my WAP's here at work using configured profiles with zero issues.

Does any one have anything I can look at to see what the issue might be?

Hi Jim,

I guess Windows 8 is not pretty much compatible with WEP. See the microsoft forum posts below. Everybody has the issue and it hasn't been resolved yet.

Try adding the network manually (Select "Set up a new connection or Network" Select "Manually connect to a wireless network" ) or by using a vendor-specific software for your wi-fi (Realtek, Intel or Broadcomm). However, i strongly recommend to change your wi-fi security to WPA/WPA2. This will definetely solve the problem.

Thanks,
