I am doing some testing with a 520 and remote dns settings.
I have the VPN setup and working. I can connect in, and I have the internal dns server being sent to the client (using the checkbox for Use remote dns server). If I ping the ip address of the server, that works, I can ping the fqdn, that works, but I can't get the vpn client to pull the internal dns name so that I can say ping just the server hostname.
Is this a shortcoming or have I missed the setting somewhere?
Hey Chris, it has always been like that with the utility. The fqdn and ip work just fine. Hostnames have not worked since i have been testing with small business devices. I know as a work around for the dns fix, is to point one of the user defined dns servers internally on the remote side. That way when it connects it tries that first and have the other one pointing to a public Dns server for name resolution.
