WIndows 7 support for SSL VPN in SA520

Hello,

A partner of mine wonders whether the SSL VPN client for SA520 is supported on Windows 7?

What about when working in clientless mode with the SSL VPN portal?

Also, could you refer regarding IPSec VPN and Windows 7 support. There are 2 ways to connect with IPSec VPN:

1) XAUTH (Standard based VPN clinets)

2) QuickVPN (Proprietary Cisco/Linksys client)

Any support with Windows 7 in either of those methods?

Please advise.

No on SSL VPN, no on Quick VPN, yes on Standards-based VPN.  However, you can run any of the above in an XP Mode and access the drive on the host OS.

We are working on having quickvpn support for the SA500 as well as SSLVPN.  I can't saw when it will be released, but we are trying to get this support into the SA500.

Re: WIndows 7 support for SSL VPN in SA520

hello Oddmar,

We have seen some Microsoft security along with MAC security change which causes some installation problems with the SSL adapter on the operating system. This is not always the case on all Windows 7 platforms or MAC. There are possible work around to increase the possibility of getting the SSL adapter to successfully install. One Windows 7 you can try to install the Microsoft visual c++ redistributable package x64, This seems to resolve about 80% of the problems associated with installing the virtual SSL adapter.

For MAC users it is a little more in depth it requires modifying the root user rights.

Hope this helps.
