** Update **

These and a number of other issues have been addressed in SRP520 MR3.  Please see https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-13853 for details on how to access this code.

There have been a number of reports of the SRP500 becoming unresponsive after a period of use.

Symptoms have included, but are not limited to:

  • DHCP failing
  • No web access to GUI
  • Port forwarding stops
  • DNS proxy fails

Thanks  to all of you that have provided feedback and advice, this had helped  us to isolate the issue, which we are now working hard to fix.   Specifically, remote attacks against the voice ports are causing the  failure of various device services.

In the mean time, it is possible to protect your SRP from these issues by configuring one of both of the following parameters.

Firstly, configure your device to accept only SIP messaging from configured voice services.

To achieve this, log in using the admin user role and select the "Voice" configuration tab.

Select "Line 1" and scroll to "SIP Settings", then set "Restrict Source IP" to yes.

Repeat this configuration for Line 2.

In  addition, if you are not using the voice ports on your SRP, it is good  practice to disable them.  To do this, set "Line Enable" to no for both lines.

One settings have been made for both lines, click on Submit at the bottom of the screen.

I sent a team Andrew Hickman * tgz files for analysis. You may be able to solve the problem. I believe it. We are waiting for a solution.
In my case I set anything in the field of traffic shapping.

Hi pmoore@wxc.co.nz,

I tried to troubleshoot this for literally weeks spending far too many hours trying to figure out why my throughput was gradually decreasing (only to be brought back to full speed after a reboot). The WRP400 that I had before this was experiencing the *exact* same issue. I tried everything including:

·Purchasing new LAN cables and a new WAN cable to remove those variables from the equation.

·Elevating the router off the desk and having a desk fan pointed right at it so that air could freely circular around it to remove overheating from the possible causes list.

·Factory resetting over 10 times (sometimes using the 30/30/30 method) and reconfiguring from scratch trying various firmware versions.

·Going without our VoIP phone lines for a day to see if it was our WxC's remote provisioning/configuration that was the cause.

·Plugging the router power adapter in to a different power outlet and making sure the power cable didn’t go anywhere near the WAN or LAN cables.

·Talking with our fibre company and getting them to check for any line errors or problems with their hardware in our building.

·Experimenting with different MTU settings without success.

·Contacting WorldxChange NZ who confirmed that RESTRICT SOURCE IP was set to YES in their configuration.

The last firmware I tried 1.01.19 RC was definitely doing a full reboot every 48 hours, as your log will no doubt show. That was pretty much the last straw for me. I've now returned the SRP521W for a refund and have installed a TP-Link TL-WR1043ND and Linksys SPA2102 which have been running flawlessly for the last week. My speeds have consistently been 92/84Mbps down/up on our 100Mbps fibre connection. It obviously appears from my view that the Cisco/Linksys all-in-one devices (or the specific configuration of those models) are the problem.

Regards,

Mike Walen.

Hi Andrew,

I noticed the SRP521W does not support Multicast routing and hence my Apple devices on the network do not see each other.

Will the v19 firmware include multicast support?

Cheers,

Matt

Dear users. After 6 days of continuous operation of the router I have this problem. Just after the wifi to download the file. Despite the saturation of the download link in 50% voip very much interrupted. MR3 firmware version 01.19. Restart the router and the problem is not for a few hours.

Hi Artur,

We've been trying to recreate your issue in our lab, but so far haven't seen the same results as you.  There are some interesting traces in the debugs your sent though, we are working through those now.  Could you please send me your router configuration - use the following link, changing the the password and IP to suit yours.

http://192.168.15.1/admin/config.xml&xuser=admin&xpassword=admin.

Please do not post the config here - send it to me directly.

Just a quick note to all....we're still trying to recreate this issue.  An update will be provided when we make some progress.

Have tested the MR3 firmware and noticed all the multicast packets are now being transferred between the WiFi and LAN ports so not sure if there was a specific fix for this but it is all working now - thanks.

Hi Matt,

Yes, that was a specific fix in MR3.

That issue was discussed in.  The thread here refers to a different issue.

Just ran the same test and after 26 days uptime, I still don't see this issue from my testing, this box is worked pretty hard with a IPBX UC320 and SIP Phone 525G with a couple of laptops sitting behind it and the box has been rock solid for me at the moment

So please write what version you have equipment? My router has a problem. I sent it to the dealer. Maybe my router has a different version than what your motherboard?

Hello everyone. After several attempts, the router is configured managed to get it to work properly. Namely, the router should turn off UPNP. And all the ailments subside. UPNP now just need to fix. I thank Andy for it is he and his team detected a problem. Now working on fixing it. That it could explain why some of you do not have a problem. Regards Andy and his team.

Hi.
Testing this device atm and so far it took 5 days before needing to reboot the device as it lost sync.

Though the 'ADSL Status' section is a bit dodge ? Its still showing the down/up stream rate, even the device has already lost sync ? As in 'Interface Setup' it didnt show any IP address under WAN interface list ?

Also if I can ask here, the device supports TR069 yes ? I cant seem to find and docus for it ? help ?

Hi Jowan,

Yes, TR069 is supported by the SRP series.  I'll share some specific detail with you directly.
