The router is probably ok as you should have much more bandwidth than you need with 54Mbps. It is likely that the PC is too far from the router or there is some source of interference that is causing issues with the wireless connection. If the range is not too great, try changing the wireless channel in the router to "Auto" to avoid interference. Also, try connecting the PC at a closer range and see if the video streams better. The AVMS software should need less than 5Mbps for streaming video but if the wireless connection has interference you will see "choppy" video.
