New WVC210 Clobbers my network when I turn the camera on
I have a new WV210 small business camera.
It istalled almost ok, except on step 5 of the installation screen I got a message saying that it could not "connect to the camera" check network connections. I knew the network was ok, or at least I thought it was...
I went ahead and put the fixed ip address I had assigned into my browser and discovered that I could manage the camera; pretty pictures too. The config of the camera contained the infromation I input in stepsl 1-4, even though I did not get to go the 6th step where I would have "finished"the installation.
So now, when I use the camera, it sends things out to the network that either slow it down incredibly or kills the router to the point that I have to reset the router to get it going again. wasup. Do I need to return the camera?
Re: New WVC210 Clobbers my network when I turn the camera on
I ran Shark and discovered that the camera was indeed flooding the network. I returned it to the store. Th new camera worked out of the box for about 48 hours. It stopped working and entered a state where the LAN light did not come on on the camera even thougt the light on the switch showed that it was connected. Since it was not functioning, I returned it and got a third camera that has been working for several days now. This was generally disappointing, especially since the store was 3 hours of driving for each exchange.
