WVC210 Wireless GPTZ Internet Camera - 2nd camera set up issues

Dear Cisco Team,

I have recently bought a second WVC210 camera (for home use). The first one is now running ok (thanks to your (Mpyhala's) help earlier).

With the second one, I have managed to set up wireless connection, but have the following issues:

1. The camera does not show any image!! On the main (home) screen for the camera, no image/view comes up. I also cannot hear anything. Although the camera is connecting to the router, etc, and I can log in to the set up page, the "home" page, does not show any life video image/feed. I tried changing resolution (from Auto selection to 640x480, and to different ones), but no result. I just have a black screen (other than I see the set up buttons, etc. on the left side of the screen)... Therefore, the most important function is not working. How can this be the case? How can I resolve?

2. The camera resets itself every few minutes, although the power is connected properly. It just shots down and restarts by itself. How can we stop this?

3. Since I now have two seperate cameras, I need to know, how can I arrange for "port forwarding" so that, I can access to the second camera viewing via internet and 3G mobile device. With the first camera I have, I have used port 80. How do I add the second one? Do I need to make any change for the first one?

4. Is there any way, we can access to the images of both cameras from the same webpage. The first one has the IP 192.168.2.210 (I gave it a fixed IP, as the other DHCP option was not working.). And for the second camera, I chose 192.168.2.211 (and on the login page for this second camera, it looks like it is also using port 80!)... So, how do I make sure the second camera does not mess up the first one, and is there anyway to view them from same website.

Thanks for your help.

Regards,

Yalin Alakoc

Re: WVC210 Wireless GPTZ Internet Camera - 2nd camera set up iss

Hi Yalin,

Thank you for posting and welcome back!

1. Does the camera show any image when it is wired to the router?

2. We had another customer report here with the same issue. I believe in that case the camera was at fault and was returned to the reseller for replacement. Same question, does it reboot when connected directly to the router? Also, have you upgraded the firmware to the latest version?

3. In Setup-> Advance Setup, change the http port on camera 2 to 1025. In your router, forward port 1025 to 192.168.2.211. Note: To reach the camera after changing the http port, you will need to type: http://192.168.2.211:1025 You can still reach camera 1 by typing 192.168.2.210 in your browser because port 80 is assumed when you use the browser. I also changed the http port on my camera 1 to 1024 and forwarded that port so they are similar in the way I access them remotely. (http://:1024 or http://:1025)

4. You will be able to reach both cameras using the steps above. You cannot view both cameras in the same browser window, you will need to open two tabs or windows to view them at the same time. You can also install the Video Monitoring Software from the disk and view up to 16 cameras at the same time, either locally or remotely. On the iPhone you can use IP Camera Viewer to view multiple cameras at the same time.

Please reply and answer 1. and 2. so we can try to find a solution.

Mpyhala,

Thanks for your reply. My answers below:

1. No image even when wired.

2. Yes, it does reboot when wired, too... I did not try to download latest firmware.

3. Thanks will try when 1 and 2 are sorted.

4. Thanks. Clear.

Look forward to further notes.

Yalin,

I would recommend that you try to upgrade to the latest firmware. If that is not possible or does not resolve the issue, return the camera to the reseller for replacement immediately. It is probable that the device is faulty.
