Cisco switch sf302-8 config as DHCP client

                 Hello, I have modem asi DHCP server and I reserve address for switch 172.16.2.254. I need config this switch as DHCP  client to the server requested the address.

Can anyone advise me the steps to set the switch

Hi Martin, in the default configuration, the switch is designed to get a DHCP address on the default VLAN (VLAN 1). So if the switch is brand new... it will get DHCP unless there is something wrong with the DHCP service.

If you want to modify the existing switch config so that your switch gets an IP address instead of using a static IP you can change this.

From the CLI

config t

int vlan 1

no ip address

ip address dhcp

From the GUI ->

Ip configuration -> IP V4 interface -> Delete the current entry

This will drop connection to the switch and reset the IP address to 192.168.1.254

Ip configuration -> IP V4 interface -> Add new entry and choose dynamic.
