MAC Address Configuration on Sx500 Series Stackable Switches

A MAC address is a physical address that identifies a device. Each MAC address represents the physical location of a device in a network. The Sx500 Series Stackable Switches offers different options to configure MAC addresses. You can add a MAC address, or create a group of MAC addresses to forward data packets only to this group. Also, you can create access lists and use MAC addresses as filters instead of IP addresses. These options adds security and lets you manage the network by selecting the devices on the network that you want to receive or not data packets. This document offers the different MAC address configurations that can be  done via Graphical User Interface (GUI) on the Sx500 Series Stackable  Switches.
