Hi all,

I have a SG300-28 setting on L3 Mode, and it VLAN1  IP is 192.168.218.3 255.255.255.0

On top of this, have a router, it LAN VLAN 1 IP is 192.168.218.1 255.255.255.0

When I login on the SG300-28 Administration > Ping or Traceroute, it never pass to outside (The 192.168.218.1 there)

Here are my setting Screen Capture of my SG300-28

Newbie L3 Route need help

Hi Jimmy,

From the switch can you ping the router at 192.168.218.1?

You should be able to get out since 192.168.218.1 is directly connected and in the same VLAN.

For the other VLANs you will need to create a static route in the router that points to the switch. Example:

To get to 192.168.78.0, go to 192.168.218.3

To get to 192.168.77.0, go to 192.168.218.3

Re: Newbie L3 Route need help

Hi all,

I fix it by login to CLI ...

then run this

config t

ip default-gateway 192.168.218.1

This make the L3 Switch have a default gateway and add a static route table in it.

Cisco Small Business much take care of their Admin and User Guide. Just all text without real life example and image is not good for Small Company without IT.
