SF 200-24P 24-Port PoE Smart Switch

Hi there

Just had a very weird problem with our nearly brand-new (less than 1 months old) SF 200-24P 24-Port PoE Smart Switch. We are using this switch for 9 IP phones. It has been working fine for just over a week, and now 7 of that 9 phones all of sudden lost the network connection to the server, but all of them still have power.

We have done both soft and hard restart for the switch, still the same result. Strange enough, if we try to plug one of the 'not working phone' to the port of the working one, then it works straight away.

It looks very likely to be a hardware issue there, but as it is a brand new switch, we also suspect it might be some kind of software 'locking' on those ports, not entirely sure.

Do you have any similar case? Help!

Cheers,

Hi Dennis,

I checked the release notes on the current firmware for the switch version 1.1.2.x  to see if anything stood out as it relates to your problem.

But your description doesn't indicate VOIP call control device or the working environment (surrounding topology) around the switch.

I can't see why the switch would suddenly alter is behavior unless there was some topology change or a failure somewhere.

Please check the error log to see if anything can be related to your issue,  and  if needed open a case with the Small Business support center (SBSC).
