Update worked fine here (HTTP).
What is your boot version? Mine is 1.3.5.06 .
If yours is still older, you first need to update this (it is also part of the .zip file).

One other point, not all firmware files contain the boot code. You need to find a version that is zipped, this will have both. For example the current firmware version is 1.4.7.6, but this comes as a .ros file. 1.4.1.3 has both files - .ros and .rfb. And still true that you need to use TFTP for the boot code, reboot the switch (takes quite a while), then upload the switch firmware, set it to active and reboot again..

Solve by upgrading the boot code (only via tftp or scp)

I do have Problems as well. After i read here i installed pumpkin-2.7.3 to my Laptop. I startet an TFTP Server and installed sx200_boot-13506.rfb onto the switch. But i am still not able to install sx200_fw-1413.ros or sx200_fw-1486.ros.
