SG300 SmartPort Disable Question

When we disable SmartPort on an SG 300 Switch we notice that under Smartport -> Interface Settings... it still shows all ports with 'Smartport Application' setting as Auto Smartport on all ports.  We were assuming it set every port to disabled??

So are question is this: When you disable Smartport under Smartport -> Properties, do you still have to go in and disable it individually on each port??? Or is it really disabled and just shows 'Auto Smartport' for each port??? Or do we really have to disable on the switch and then go disable for each port?

Thanks!

Hi Cfras, There is a global disable and per port disable. If you globally disable the smart port then it is disabled for all port. It should not require to also disable per each port,

The per port naturally is to pick and choose which interfaces should participate.

Hi Tom,

I couldn't help but notice you said it "should" not require disabling each port.  Do you (or Cisco if you are listening) know for sure if the global setting disables it for all ports?  Sorry to be picky but this caused a big issue for us so we want to be certain. :-)

Thanks!

I say should because if the port disable does not work, there is something wrong.

The problem is, if you're using smart ports before, those macros do not necessarily clear out when the smart ports have been disabled as it is part of the configuration.
