SG500: Firmware Upgrade Order to 1.4.0.88 from 1.3.0.62

I have a pair of SG500-28  (v2 hardware) in a stack. Both are running 1.3.0.62 firmware.

In looking at the 1.4.0.88 release notes, is this the correct firmware upgrade order:

  1. upgrade to latest boot file, 1.4.0.02 from the 1.4.0.88 zip file
  2. reboot switches
  3. upgrade the switch firmware to 1.3.5.58
  4. reboot switches
  5. upgrade the switch firmware to 1.4.0.88
  6. reboot switches

Any advice, warnings, etc would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Keith

Keith,

I would perform the upgrade in these steps:

1, Upgrade the boot version to 1.3.5.06 first, and upgrade the firmware to 1.3.5.58.  Both of these files are in the 1.3.5.58 firmware zip file.  Reboot.

2. Then upgrade the boot to 1.4.0.02 and the firmware to 1.4.0.88.  Both of these files are in the 1.4.0.88 firmware zip file.

This way, the running firmware, at all times, is on a supported boot version.  Your process may work without a hitch, but this way will make sure there is no mismatch between boot and firmware.  Hopefully, this helps.  Thanks Keith.

James

Thanks a lot for the response, I will try it that way.

Keith
