Hi
I need to implement VLANS across 3 SF-300 switches. We need VLANS to go across the switches. That is we can assign 3 VLANS to the different switches and they would be seen across the 3 switches. The switches are linked through their Giga Ethernet port. A false switch stack if you will. Switches are in L2 mode. We created the VLANS on each of the 3 switches , say VLAN 4,5,6. We have tagged the uplinks but the VLANs do not seem to be seen trough all switches. Only on one of the switches . We are utterly newbies. Can you help? Thanks in advance

Hi Frantz,
that should definitely be possible.
You need to configure the VLAN on all switches.
And the links that interconnect the switches must be configured as trunk ports and the VLAN's you use must be allowed on these trunk ports as tagged VLAN's.
(VLAN management -> Interface Settings)
Also make sure the PVID is the same on all of these uplink ports. (by default it is 1, which is fine)
Regards,
Markus

It's working. Once I had the Trunk to accept the VLANS.
Thanks Gang!!!

Hi Frantz Mathias ,
1. You have to create all vlan like vlan 10, 11, 12 to all connected switch. If you create vlan 10 in sw3 but sw2 does not know this vlan then traffic will not pass.
2. For multiple vlan pass through a single port must be configure this port as a trunk port.
3. For redundancy Sw1 and Sw3 connect through a another cable. if Sw2 fail then how will communication works.
Thanks
