Problem with MWI on Cisco Ip Phone

Hi, 

I have this annoying problem with my Cisco IP Phone 303 : I don't want to use MWI (Message Waiting Indicator) as I use a system from my PBX that allows recorded messages to be sent to me by email. 

However, I am unable to turn off MWI on my phone. Whenever I turn the MWI option of the concerned extension in the administration of the phone to "off" and hit "Submit all changes", the phone restarts but the option is set to "on" again when I check. 

How to turn MWI permanently off on the IP Phone ?
