I am setting up a wireless network utilizing three wap4410. They are located in three different buildings on the business grounds. #1 is connected to the wired network and configured with the ap set to wds repeater #2. The other two I have setup using wds repeater, #2 repeating #1, #3 repeating #2. My problem is with #3. #1 and #2 work perfectly, allowing me to connect a switch to each and connect a network aplliance to the switch. I can access the web gui without problem, as well as the internet. #3 I can see in the site survey without a problem, but am unable to access the web gui, ping, see on the network, etc. I have tried repeating #1 as well as #2. I gave each wap it's own ssid, have not set any security yet, each having its own unique fixed ip on the same subnet.
Is WDS repeater the best setting for what I am trying to accomplish? If so, do the ssid's need to be the same? Is there a specific sequence to which device you are repeating?
