I've set a WAP4410N to the "Wireless Client/Repeater" mode so that I can use it as a client to connect to another access point through WPA2-PSK. The problem is that it does not associate with the target WLAN.
Debugging the issue via SSH I noticed there is no wpa_supplicant process running, and there does exist a wpa_supplicant configuration file at
/var/wpasupp.cfg . This configuration file is almost correct, except for one particular line that wpa_supplicant can't parse. (I tested wpa_supplicant manually with debugging turned on to find this). This bogus line reads:
ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
Upon deleting this line, wpa_supplicant can be launched just fine and it associates to the target WLAN perfectly.
So this is clearly a bug in the code that generates the /var/wpasupp.cfg file.
Can someone report it so Cisco fixes it in the next firmware release?
