WLAN - Cisco Unified Communications 500 Series - Cisco Smart Business Communication Systems

Overview

The Cisco Unified Communications 500 Series for Small Business supports an embedded 802.11 b/g Autonomous Access Point offering 54 Mbps for Wireless LAN connectivity. This will help employees be more productive and collaborate better through access to applications and information from anywhere they work.

The UC520 routers with an embedded Autonomous Access Point option may be suitable for businesses that require a smaller WiFi coverage area and pre-dominantly use Wi-Fi for wireless data only access. Even though the integrated access point supports voice over wireless, for optimal performance and a higher requirment for of voice over wireless LAN (VoWLAN) clients, like the Cisco 7921 IP Phones, we recommend that the customer go with the Cisco AP521G Autonomous Access Point or the Cisco Mobility Express solution with the LWAPP based AP521 and WLAN Controller 526.

Please also note that the embedded Access Point is optional and supported only on the 8 and 16 user SKUs. The part numbers and the configurations are listed below:
