9222i License SAN_EXTN_OVER_IP

Hi

I am implementing FCIP on two 9222i MDS switches, do I need to have SAN_EXTN_OVER_IP license? because during the installation I get the message I need this license. But now I see everything running normal and there is no information that SAN_EXTN_OVER_IP are enabled or in grace period.

Enterprise_PKG and SME license already applied to the switchs.

I got the answer. MDS9222i has an embedded license for FCIP. But the supervisor module can either run FCIP or Storage Encryption but not both.

Correct, the GE ports included on the slot 1 line card (sup) can run FCIP with no additional license. If you install a second 18-4 card in slot 2, it would require the SAN-EXT license to run FCIP.

Also correct, the line card in slot 1 is capable of FCIP, or SME, but not both at the same time.
