connUnitPortStatusChange

Looking for a good resource to read about this SNMP trap, or someone who can tell me about it.  We get them all the time on our MDS 9513s, and I would really like to know what exactly it means.  When this trap is fed into our monitoring software, it does not refer to a specific port changing status, and the logs don't show a correlation.

The trap is

connUnitPortStatusChange

1.3.6.1.3.94.0.6

It is part of the FCMGMT-MIB you can look up the specifics by googling the OID

From what I understand its the link state change notification.

So not only switch but also host side actions are logged ie reboots logouts and so on.

If you want to disable them the command is:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/datacenter/mds9000/sw/5_0/command/reference/CR04.pdf

configure terminal

int fc x/y

no link-state-trap
