Re: $default_zone$ ???

By default, the default zone is disabled. However, if enabled, it is a blanket allow all zoning. The caveat to this is: If a device is specifically zoned into a zone/zoneset and activated, then that device is removed from the default zone. In other words, the default and a configured/activated zoneset can coexist in a vsan, but devices cannot be used in both.

Re: $default_zone$ ???

The best place to see this is which the show zone status vsan X. If the default zone has not been enabled, you will see so like this in the default zone area:

VSAN: 1 default-zone: deny distribute: full Interop: default

mode: basic merge-control: allow session: none

hard-zoning: enabled

The command to enable default zoning is:

zone default-zone permit vsan 1

And then the show zone status will show permit default zoning like this:

VSAN: 1 default-zone: permit distribute: full Interop: default

mode: basic merge-control: allow session: none

hard-zoning: enabled

There is no activation required for default zoning-only enabled or disabled. It is disabled by default.
