FC portchannel "invalidCfg"

I have a 9216i’s (nxos 4.2) and a 6120 (ucs 2.0) that I am trying to configure a san-port-channel to port-channel with and I can’t get it working. The FC (F-NP) links work when they are not in a po, but when I try to form a port-channel I get “invalidCfg” on the MDS switch.

I am setting it up with only one link to start with.

What is wrong with this config or is their a bug?

The MDS switch has NPIV enabled.

i assume FI are running host-end mode ? Did you enable fport-channel-trunk on 9216 (hopefully it supports it)?

feature fport-channel-trunk

All interfaces on both devices have their membership in vsan 1.

FI has “FC Uplink Trunking” enabled and is running EHM.

fport-channel-trunk   1         enabled

fport-channel-trunk is enabled on 9216 ?

Yes. No matter what I do, or how I configure it on either side. I keep getting the MDS fc interface being error disabled.

port-channel on both sides have been added to VSAN 114, as you can see i am not trunking multiple VSANs.

I think I know what the problem is. 9216i's default line card are gen 1 and do not support f-port-trunk functionality. I am going to buy a gen 2 line card x9148 and put it in. I have been told these will work.

interesting, they allow you to enable software features without checking hardware compatibility.

Did you ever resolve this? I am running into the same thing but have the x9148 2nd gen modules. Any help would be great, figure it is not compatible with the FI as I am able to do port channels with 5Ks and with another MDS 9216i with the second gen module.
