Is there anyway to control/configure what ports are used by FMS? It seems like I've had to open up a bunch of random ports in the server firewall to get the clients to be able to connect. My strict sysadmin does not want to allow open access. Help.
In the file server.properties are all sorts of variables set to control various ports such as server.port = 1099 and server.data.port = 9100 and on and on. All my unix/linux clients are working, but an XP client just failed trying to use DPT=3873. I don't see that defined anywhere.
There rally don't see to be any good documents dedicated to the management of the server. For instance, if I want to move the server from one host to another, what considerations are there, does the backend db have to be changed in some way? Where are the docs on FMS management.
