When you say support SAN, are talking about Fibre Channel storage networking. The MDS9000 family and the SN5428 SAN switches are for Fibre Channel, but they also hve GiGE interfaces on them to support Storage over IP protocols like iSCSI and FCIP. These interfaces can connect to the data network LAN/WAN via 2950/3550/6500
