I have a SAN network with two fabrics, each of those consisting of 2x MDS9710, 2x MDS9513 and some N5ks.
The MDS9710 switches currently run NX-OS release 6.2.9 and we are planning to upgrade them to NX-OS 6.2.11c in order to get FC-SP/encryption support.
The Cisco release notes state that an upgrade from 6.2(9b) to 6.2(11x) is not supported:
"Upgrading from Cisco MDS NX-OS Release 6.2(9b) to Cisco MDS NX-OS Release 6.2(11x) is not supported due to the introduction of a new feature to support longer role names (a maximum of 64 characters) in the Cisco MDS NX-OS Release 6.2(9b)."
Is this only valid for 6.2(9b) or all 6.2(9x) Releases? Or is it possible to upgrade directly and nondisruptive from 6.2(9) to 6.2(11c)?
