MDS boot files

I need to upgrade the OS on my MDS 9216i switch. I need to clear some room on the bootflash. There is a file there that I need to know about.

From what I can find out, the m9000 file relates to some Veritas product and should not be required.

Question - can I delete this file to clear some space?

Re: MDS boot files

Yes, the asm code is for the Veritas ASM blade that has recently been end of sale. If you do not have this blade, then you can delete it. If you might need it again in the future, simply copy it off to the tftp server before deleting it on the MDS. The command would be: copy bootflash: tftp: and then following the menu questions. If it is unix server, be sure to touch and apply appropriate permissions to be able to copy it over.
