Nexus 7000 and 5000

Can we use Nexus 5000 and 7000 for WAN connectivity and Internet Services from ISP at collapsed core distribution layer.

Re: Nexus 7000 and 5000

The Nexus 5000 is layer 2 only.

The Nexus 7000 could be used but there are three facts to know:

1.) the nexus 7000 can handle up to 128k prefixes, so a full internet table is not possible (the N7K is a datacenter switch, not an SP platform)

2.) you are limited to ethernet connectivity, no WAN interfaces are available

3.) no NAT

Michael
