Greetings,

All my MDS are reporting issues such as Link Failure on several ports since May. Everyday, a new report is shows up and in a diferent fcport.

The troubleshooting document says that could be a physical issue, but I already checked.

Who can help me with this situation?

Kind Regards,

Nuno Barbosa

Hi Nuno,

Hello Brian,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

This is a production cisco MDS 9513 and it is attached with servers, storage and has 2 ISL ports for a MDS C-Class on a HP BladeCenter C7000 Enclosure.

I noticed that these 2 ISL ports (2 each Fabric), has the following configuration:

MDS-PDC-A-01# sh interface fc1/22

fc1/22 is up

    Port description is "APRICOT ISL"

Hardware is Fibre Channel, SFP is short wave laser w/o OFC (SN)

    Port WWN is 20:16:54:7f:ee:0c:ff:00

    Peer port WWN is 20:0a:00:05:73:b0:1d:00

Admin port mode is E, trunk mode is off

snmp link state traps are enabled

    Port mode is E

    Port vsan is 1

    Transmit B2B Credit is 16

    Receive B2B Credit is 250

B2B State Change Number is 14

Receive data field Size is 2112

    Beacon is turned off

    5 minutes input rate 34634640 bits/sec, 4329330 bytes/sec, 2795 frames/sec
