SN5420 and TOE Adapters / Win2K3

Hello;

We are attempting to use SN5420's as a front-end to our SAN, and have no problems mapping LUN's through it.

However, when attempting to connect to the targets through the MS ISCSI initiator or with an Intel Pro1000/T Storage Adapter, we get "unsupported initiator version" errors. This issue appears both on Win2K and Win2K3. The only successful connection we've made so far is with the 2.1.x Cisco ISCSI driver through a regular NIC.

We are thinking about using the Adaptec TOE card, but I'd like to see if anyone out there has a good "recipie" for the SN5420 to work with a good TOE card on W2K/W2K3.

I understand that the SN5420 is end of life, but it would be a shame to ditch it due to driver incompatibilities.

Thanks in advance for your response.

What revision of the intel 1000T storage adapter are you are using PWSA8701T or PWSA8700T? The newer drivers for do not support the original iscsi drafts supported on the SN5420.

In other words, the current drivers for the intel storage adapter are incompatable with SN5420.
